Lesson
Objective: After reading about food chains in the Ecosystem Unit and studying the vocabulary, students will show their understanding of food chains by creating an example of a food chain using the Popplet App on the iPad. Students will be able create a visual food chain that includes pictures collected from the internet and labeled nodes using vocabulary from the Ecosystem Unit and then email the picture file to teacher.
Modeling: Teacher will model Popplet app to create visual food chain. Teacher will model the process to search for images on google and save to iPad camera roll. On the Popplet app, teacher will demonstrate the process for making nodes, drawing in a node, inserting images into a node, changing colors of nodes and text as well as labeling a node. Finally the process for exporting and email the jpeg image to teacher.
